In September of 2014, God gave me a name in a hotel, at a NAIFA conference in San Diego: Perpetual Lifestyle Planning, and I had no idea what to do with it. Honestly, I thought I had a good idea, and it could possibly be God. I wasn't in relationship with Him at the time, so I took the idea to my wife who heard Him clearly, and she didn't shoot me down, so we pursued it. It was not an easy decision, to say the least.
On February 27th 2015, Perpetual Lifestyle Planning was formed, and the idea became a formal organization. 10 years later, I am so thankful I heard the voice of God, and my wife believed in me. The fruit that decision produced has been incredible to see over time.
The first year I wanted to quit many times and felt like I had made a terrible mistake. It made no sense for me to start my own firm in the natural. I lost 40% of my income, and many people thought I had gone crazy, but God was trying to reach my heart and wanted me to trust Him. I was attempting to follow God in my own strength, and that never works out well, so I started surrendering my life to the Lord, albeit slowly. At some point that year, I received a prophetic word that the Lord had called me out of Egypt, and even though I was in the desert, He had called me to the promise land, so I knew that meant I needed to keep going.
In January 2016, I fully surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and gave Him everything I had. He had humbled me the previous year, and made me realize I was nothing without Him, so I told Him what He already knew, that I was all His, and I would do whatever He asked me to do.
The second year wasn't much better financially, and the stress and financial toll it took on me, and my family, was very difficult to overcome. However, I had God's peace, and a confidence in Him, that I didn't have before. I knew that God had called me to do more than just manage people's money, so I kept going.
The next year, things started to improve as I continued to seek Him more, and in 2018, I went to a Heaven in Business workshop that changed my life. First, I walked in with a torn ACL that got healed by prayer, and walked out with encouraging testimonies, and renewed belief that what I was doing was needed, and possible. Meeting Andy Mason, and hearing his heart for marketplace ministry, was so empowering and I grew more excited for what God was doing, outside of the church, and all over the World. This was a catalyst for hearing the voice of God on a regular basis, and asking Him what He wanted to do in the business.
That year, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and I began to hear the voice of God more clearly, and started to see incredible evidence of how amazing He is on a daily basis.
In 2020, I went to the Heaven in Business Conference for the first time in Redding, California and I was surrounded by amazing people who were all walking in the same direction. I had found my tribe. On fire to encourage others in Birmingham when I got home, I could not wait to see what God would do. Several weeks later, the lockdowns started. The whole world was shutting down, and it was gripped with fear.
Thankfully, I had made friends around the World and we were encouraging one another, and Andy decided to start a weekly prayer call until the virus came to an end. That mid-week encouragement turned into an incredible lifeline for me, and so many, and it helped PLP not only survive, but thrive, during the craziest times in World history. Chaos was everywhere, but we had the hope of Jesus Christ, which is better than anything the world has to offer.
The business has continued to grow each year, and it has all been based on our commitment to boldly following Jesus, and share that good news with others God places in our path.
10 years into this amazing journey, I am so grateful for all that God has done through His idea.
Today, we have a great team of people who love God, and love others very well. We serve people to the best of our ability and put their needs above our own. We pray for, and counsel our clients, in ways I never imagined in the beginning. We lay hands on the sick and see them healed, in the name of Jesus. People have given their lives to Christ in our office. Oppressive spirits have left people in business meetings. Words of encouragement are freely given, and received. We have amazing clients that trust us, and know that we love them, all over the country. We now have 2 offices, in Birmingham, Alabama, and Laguna Beach, California, and we are committed to being a marketplace ministry that glorifies God in all that we do. We will never shy away from our faith, as all these things are only possible through Him, who gives us strength.
Jesus is amazing and I am nothing without Him!
We are 10 years in, and still learning and growing. We are always looking for like minded individuals to join our team, and we welcome new clients that want what I have described above.
The world tells you to hide your faith, but Jesus says to let your light shine and never put it under a basket.
We will continue to be who He has called us to be, and I believe the best is yet to come, with His help.

Thank you to my incredible wife, who believed in me, and stayed with me through the extremely difficult trials, and stood by my side from the beginning.
