Note - as of this time, tax filing is still set for April 15.
However, you will have more time to pay, as announced today... "the government is deferring $300 billion in IRS payments by 90 days, penalty-free." If you owe a payment to the IRS, you can defer up to $1 million as an individual. Businesses can defer up to $10 million in payments.
But for those feeling the crunch of work and school closures and expecting a refund, filing prior to the deadline is a good call.
We'll do our best to keep you up to date with the quickly changing financial landscape.
Delay takes pressure off of people scrambling to pay their returns by April 15.
