Miles College is pleased to announce Talibah M. Bayles as the next Director of the Miles College Women’s Business Center.

Bayles brings more than 18 years of experience in strategic management, entrepreneurship support, small-business capital readiness, and financial advisory services. Since the Center’s inception in 2022, she has contributed to its work as an instructor and leader, helping entrepreneurs strengthen their financial systems, prepare for funding, and build sustainable businesses.

In this new role, Bayles will lead the Center’s continued work as a regional hub for entrepreneurship, expanding training opportunities, deepening community partnerships, and supporting business owners throughout Birmingham and the surrounding region.

I came in as an Instructor believing in what this center could be — and now I get to help build what it becomes. As a business owner myself, rooted in a family legacy of entrepreneurship, I know firsthand what access to the right support can mean.

I am deeply committed to leading the next phase of business development and financial empowerment — equipping entrepreneurs with the strategies, resources, and capital access they need to build businesses that last.

FBI Birmingham Division is now accepting applications for Citizens Academy, Fall 2026! The Citizens Academy program allows adults 21+ and opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI.

This engaging eight-week program gives business, religious, civic, and community leaders and opportunity to foster a greater understanding of the role of federal law enforcement in the community through education and discussion.

FBI Birmingham Division hosts two Citizens Academy classes annually:

■Huntsville, AL (Spring)
■Birmingham, AL (Fall)


Nomination Process

Candidates may be nominated by FBI Employees, former Citizens Academy graduates, community leaders, or self-nominated. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

✅️Be a recognized business, religious, or community leader

✅️Live and/or work within the Division’s jurisdiction

✅️Be at least 21 years old

✅️Consent to a limited background investigation, to include fingerprint checks

✅️Attend all sessions with no more than two excused absences

Please note the selection process is highly competitive, and not all applicants will be selected. Selections of the final candidates are determined by FBI Birmingham.

The next Citizen Academy will take place at FBI Birmingham Division Field Office, located in Birmingham Alabama, Tuesday, September 15, 2026, through November 3, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Trust me, that's just ONE accomplishment of many for this young lady so I'll let this photo splash give you a glimpse of the ways she continues the excellence legacy. I'm so proud of her. 😍❤️💋
