“Pope is Lights Out on Holston!”
The scorching sun greeted the TN Christian Bass Anglers this past weekend as the launched on the waters of South Holston Lake for the ninth stop of the season. Several teams reported catching their bass before dark and then struggled for bites once night fell. The top teams that continued to find bites later during the tournament slowed down and committed to a Ned rig.
As the storms rolled in, the anglers came to the scales and it was Eric Pope who claimed the top spot with a three bass limit that weighed 8.93 lbs. Pope also had big bass on the night, with a 4.35 lbs. largemouth. Coming in a close second place was the team of Dison and Dison with 8.66 lbs. Rounding out the top three was the team of Sheppard and Sheppard with three bass for 6.37 lbs.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the water and helped us sneak the weigh-in in before the storms set in on us. Our final regular season event takes us to Watauga Lake in August. Also be sure to mark your calendars for September 19th for the Wayne Starnes Memorial Fellowship Tournament on Boone Lake out of Winged Deer! God Bless!
