Thinking about a 401(k) rollover? Our team at DNA Financial & Associates helps pre‑retirees, career changers, federal employees, and HENRYs understand the key decision points before moving retirement assets.

A rollover can impact more than just where your account lives. It’s important to weigh:
• Fees and overall plan costs
• Investment options available in the new account versus your current plan
• Creditor and ERISA protection differences
• Tax implications, including how Roth vs. pre‑tax assets will be treated
• Whether you need access to funds at specific ages or stages
• Whether leaving assets in your existing employer plan may make more sense

Rollovers should always be evaluated carefully based on individual circumstances, especially when coordinating tax planning, retirement income planning, and long‑term wealth goals.

If you’re considering a rollover, we invite you to review your options with our team before making a decision.

Eleanor’s story is one we see often. She was a retired federal employee with solid assets, a pension, and Social Security. She had a tax preparer, an investment planner, and did plenty of online research. But none of it worked together.

Over time, the lack of coordination created confusion. Her tax decisions didn’t match her TSP withdrawal strategy. Her healthcare choices didn’t align with her long-term income needs. And her beneficiaries and estate choices weren’t updated to reflect the rest of her plan.

Her situation is a reminder that retirement planning isn’t just about one account or one decision. Federal benefits, taxes, TSP/401(k) withdrawals, pensions, healthcare, and estate decisions all influence each other.

That’s why our upcoming webinar dives into the most common gaps we see.

Join us for “You Did the Work. Don’t Lose It: 5 Gaps That Can Derail Retirement Income” on Tuesday, July 21 at 12pm EDT.
