October is here, and that means it is officially the season of fall festivities. Halloween, arguably one of the largest fall festivities, is right around the corner, and we have one very important question on our minds: Which traditional fall sweet treat is your go-to favorite?

🍎 Vote caramel apple

🥧 Vote pumpkin pie

Both are fall classics, both have their devoted fans, and both deserve a spot at the table. But which one gets your vote?

Drop your pick in the comments. We are curious to see which treat takes the win this month!

October has a way of putting things into perspective. The final quarter of the year is here, and for many business owners, that brings a mix of energy and urgency. There is still time to finish strong, but the window is getting shorter.

This quote is a timely reminder that crossing the finish line is not about pushing harder for its own sake. It is about reconnecting with the reason you started in the first place. That clarity is often what separates a strong finish from a scattered one.

As you move through October, we would love to hear from you: What was the original reason you started your business or took on your biggest goal this year? Share it in the comments. Sometimes the best fuel for finishing strong is remembering where it all began.

As we get closer to the end of the year, our team wanted to send a quick reminder that now is a great time to check in with us about potential tax-saving opportunities before year-end deadlines arrive.

A proactive conversation now may help you maximize deductions and credits, make advantageous purchasing decisions, adjust estimated final payments if needed, and identify other advantageous tax moves.

Additionally, we encourage you to reach out sooner rather than later, as our calendars tend to fill up quickly toward the end of the year.

That said, if you’d like to review your situation or discuss year-end planning opportunities, feel free to reply to this email or give the team a call.

Bookkeeping is one of the first financial systems every business owner needs to think about. While some business owners can manage their own books at first, accurate bookkeeping becomes increasingly important as revenue, expenses, payroll, and tax obligations grow.

Swipe through for a few key considerations before deciding whether to handle bookkeeping yourself.

We hope you find this guide helpful. As always, if you have questions about setting up your books, organizing your records, or keeping your accounting on track, give our office a call. Our team is here to help guide you.

Rental property decisions can have different tax consequences depending on the details, so before year-end, I encourage owners to take a closer look at a few key areas:

• Repairs versus improvements
• Income and expense records
• Planned property purchases or sales
• Any changes in personal use of the property

The way an expense, sale, or use change is treated for tax purposes can vary, and discussing your plans before you act may help prevent unwelcome surprises later.

If you own rental property and would like focused guidance, schedule a consultation with me. I also work with individuals who are not ongoing tax-preparation clients.

If you filed an extension for your individual tax return, the October 15 deadline is approaching.

This is a good time to make one final check: please confirm that you have submitted all remaining documents and answered any outstanding questions promptly. A complete file helps me finalize your return accurately and on time.

Also, remember that an extension to file generally is not an extension to pay. If you still have an item outstanding, please contact me immediately so I can help you determine the next steps.

Year-end tax planning often feels like something there will be time to deal with later, until later arrives all at once. Starting now can give your business more room to make smart decisions, avoid a last-minute rush, and take action while more options are still on the table.

One key end-of-year tax planning tip is to run a year-end tax projection. Before making any big moves, it helps to know where your income is likely to land. A year-end projection can help estimate taxable income and identify whether it makes sense to accelerate expenses, defer income where appropriate, increase retirement contributions, or adjust estimated tax payments.

Thoughtful year-end planning starts with understanding where you stand and which moves are worth making before the calendar turns. If you’re interested in running a year-end tax projection, please reach out. Always here to help your business.

Most business owners know that financial data plays an important role in running a successful company. Whether you're monitoring day-to-day performance or evaluating future opportunities, having a clear understanding of your numbers can help support informed decision-making.

That's why we're sharing a few business accounting terms that are worth revisiting. See below for a few key accounting terms:

⚫Equity: Equity represents the owner's interest in the business after deducting liabilities from assets.
⚫Debt-To-Equity Ratio: This ratio compares debt financing to the equity an owner holds in a business.
⚫Reconciliation: Reconciliation is the process of comparing a business's financial records to ensure they match supporting third-party documentation, such as bank statements.
⚫Retained Earnings: Retained earnings are profits that remain in the business rather than being distributed to owners.
⚫Liquidity: Liquidity measures how easily a business can meet short-term obligations using available assets.
⚫Return On Investment (ROI): ROI measures the return generated from an investment relative to its cost.

Whether you have questions about tax strategy, business growth, or day-to-day financial decisions, our team is here to provide guidance and support. If there's ever anything we can help you navigate, don't hesitate to reach out. We're always happy to be a resource.
