A person with a disability may be eligible for more than one disability benefit through the Social Security Administration. Here is a guide to understanding how those benefits may interact with each other:

If you or a loved one receives Social Security Disability benefits and also works, you need to understand Impairment Related Work Expenses and Subsidies and Special Conditions:

“When is a door no longer a door? When it is ajar.” The old children’s joke could be rewritten for Social Security Disability in this way “When is earned income no longer countable income? When it is IRWE or Subsidy.” In my last blog, I said that people with disabilities, who work and rece...

I'm pleased to share that I just passed the Social Security Administration's EDPNA exam as well as the Certified Medicaid Planner exam by the Board of the same name. The EDPNA certification attests to my capacity to guide my clients through the Social Security Disability application and appeals process and leverage Work Incentives. The Certified Medicaid Planner credential attests to my capacity to help clients access the Medicaid Long-term Care and Waiver services to support their quility of life.

Why deficit-based definitions of “disability” are self-defeating: https:

Work requirements have been raised in the past and are surfacing again in the context of Medicaid reform.
