The 2025 tax year also includes tax brackets for married couples filing separately and those filing as head of household. Key changes for 2025 include increased standard deduction amounts, a maximum Child Tax Credit of $2,200 per child, a SALT deduction cap of $40,000 ($20,000 for married filing separately), and a 0% long-term capital gains rate for married couples filing jointly with incomes up to $96,700. Social Security tax applies to the first $176,100 in wages.
