Knowing your bracket doesn't tell you your effective tax rate.

The bracket is about the next taxable dollar. The effective rate compares tax paid with income. One producer went from 17.6% to 11.4% on about $128K of income without changing his bracket.

Compare your own years with the same definition. Then ask whether income, deductions, entity treatment, or credits changed. Another producer's number isn't automatically the right target for you.

Do you know your effective rate from last year off the top of your head?

October 15 is a collision point for Medicare producers.

Annual enrollment opens. Most people who requested a filing extension also need their 2025 personal return finished. The April payment deadline didn't move with the filing extension.

A producer told Omar, "During AEP I was doing all these applications. I didn't have time to do any filing."

Get the document handoff settled now. Name what's missing and who closes each item. Another phone reminder won't finish a task nobody owns.

Which unfinished filing item needs an owner before the 15th?

An owner summed up her week to Omar: "I'm doing an office manager. I'm doing a CEO. I'm doing a trainer's job and a recruiter's job. I'm not doing a good job on any area."

She wanted growth without being every department herself.

She had carriers, an upline, and sales training. What was missing was an owner for the money side. Hiring and spending ran on feel. The tax bill was left to happen.

Friday is about that missing job. Sep 25, 11 AM Central, about 30 minutes, for producers doing $150K+. Run your Tax Risk Score live and see where you stand for 2026. Then Omar shows the order the top 1% use for money decisions, so the numbers make the case instead of the gut.

Already have a CPA? Keep them. This is the job they weren't hired for.

An owner's first full-time hire came with a real concern: "Full time and it's making me a little nervous." And: "I don't want to keep touching my savings for business, but I know it's an investment."

Hiring costs include more than salary: onboarding, software, employer costs, training time, and the slower months ahead.

When will this role free up selling time? For help before AEP, compare a permanent hire with temporary support or shifting responsibilities.

The balance can cover today without proving the agency can carry the role in March.

What work has to come off your plate for the hire to make sense?

One insurance producer had about $128K of income, reports that added up, and no clear plan. He felt he was paying too much but couldn't show why.

Secure Plus Financial checked the numbers against his IRS transcripts. The reports then started answering the real questions: lead spending, money after payroll, and profit versus cash that needed to stay put.

His effective rate fell from 17.6% to 11.4%. Same book, same effort. "I know I'm in good hands."

The fix wasn't a prettier dashboard. It was a report designed to answer a decision.

What does your current report still leave unanswered?

Top-1% producer. Bottom-50% tax strategy. Omar sees the same gap every week.

More policies can grow the deposits. They won't explain what the agency can safely use after payroll, taxes, and chargebacks. A bigger balance isn't the same as a clearer answer.

You no longer handle every phone call yourself. Why is the tax strategy still left as a DIY job?

Where does your agency lose clarity after the commissions arrive?

A large retirement contribution looked like the easy answer for a producer with a big captive book. Lower taxable income. Lower bill.

Omar asked what the money needed to do first. The answer: "I'm sure future me would love that, but right now I need $50,000 for my kid's college."

Imagine taking the deduction first, then trying to cover tuition with cash already tied up in retirement. A great tax summary wouldn't fix that problem.

The missing piece was the goal before the strategy. Secure Plus Financial still cut his taxes, using a plan that fit his life.

Friday is that conversation, live. Sep 25, 11 AM Central, about 30 minutes, for producers doing $150K+. Tax Risk Score first, then how top producers fund what they actually want from money they're already sending the IRS.

Bring the decision to your CPA before bringing the receipt.

A hire, property, retirement contribution, or owner draw changes the conversation. After the money moves, some of that conversation is already over.

Write down your goal, the cash involved, the timing, and the alternatives. Add current numbers. Now the review can be about what happens next, not only what happened last month.

Ask: "What decision am I making in the next 90 days that changes my tax picture?" If nobody is working on that question, it isn't automatically a bad CPA. It's a job that needs an owner.

What decision would make your next financial review useful?

Two agency owners told Omar, almost word for word: "Truth be told, we still don't have a right system."

They were growing, not struggling. The problem was that growth brought more decisions than the structure underneath could handle. So the loudest issue got the money and attention. Often that meant the tax bill, because it had a date.

Before the next hire, property, or entity, fix the system supporting what already works. That isn't procrastination. It's the order.

What have you added that the systems underneath weren't ready for?

Medicare producers: how much financial work will actually happen once your appointments fill the week?

A producer told Omar, "During AEP I was doing all these applications. I didn't have time to do any filing." She wanted to sell through the season.

What she was missing was the timing. Some decisions that change the 2026 bill need action before year-end. A few start in October. Waiting until January takes those options off the table.

Friday is time to look before the calendar takes over. Sep 25, 11 AM Central, about 30 minutes, for producers doing $150K+. Run your Tax Risk Score live and see where you stand for 2026. Then Omar shows which decisions can't wait until January and the order to make them in.

Bring the one thing you don't want to keep postponing.
