I always say it feels like you are on a fast train and can't get of as the thoughts comes streaming through you mind. Once you channel that energy, it is amazing how much you do get done.

I was blessed to see wild horses in Wyoming during a winter day when snow was just starting to fall. They were so beautiful and so grand.

My God, what are the schools and the parents teaching? We traveled to many states as my children were growing up and we always made them aware of what states they were in, went sight seeing or drove through local points such as the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, New Mexico. Took trips to the mountains the beaches, the deserts. My second husband took us to more states and we even went to Canada where my children learned exchange rates. Again we took them to museums, places where Battles were fought, like the Little Big Horn, Mount Rushmore, Went and had high tea in Vancouver, interacted with people from different states. They expanded their own knowlege as they grew up. We also showed them how to navigate our way using the Thomas Guide. My two younger sons used to play Axis and Allies and learned about governments, wars and strategic planning. Teaching begins at home and the more you expose them, the more they want to learn. When the Internet came along they discovered how easy researching topics and places of interest were.
I would start by taking this child to historical places, geographic wonders, museums, explaining events.
So many of the kids are clueless about how government runs, what wars have been fought, what are country has accomplished and when plus history from other countries.
How very sad.
