EDITED:
We have had acceptances on ALL returns that we've transmitted so far this year. Refunds for these folks should arrive soon.
Our office is open Monday through Friday now. 9 am to 5pm.
We will extend hours as we get into the season.
As always, our office does participate in early season refund programs and "fee paid" funding options for your refunds.
REFUNDS/PAYMENTS:
The IRS will not longer issue paper checks for refunds, nor will they accept your paper check for payments. YOU MUST ELECT DIRECT DEPOSIT or DEBIT CARD for refunds. Payments via DIRECT DEBIT will be required.
We began this practice in our office post-pandemic. Checks were not being processed timely, resulting in letters.
It is safe. It is secure. Let us assure you of that.
TAX CUTS:OBB3
We will be asking for some additional documents this year, if you wish to take advantage of the "No tax on Overtime" deduction. Employers were not required to list an employee's total overtime for 2025, so we will rely on you to provide this for us. We cannot give the deduction without the final paystub.
No tax on Tips:
Tipped employees should have their reported tips on their w2.
No tax on car loan interest:
If you purchased (not lease) a new vehicle in 2025, and it meets the requirements for "No tax on car loan interest" you will need to bring in additional documents.
Your vehicle VIN will be required.
TRUMP ACCOUNTS:
Initial contribution to made by the US Treasury for children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028.
We will need information about your new little one. These account applications are to be filed with your 2025 return, but will not fund the initial US Treasury deposit before July 4, 2026 and contributions cannot be made before that date. Taxpayers will receive an information packet to the authorized individual in May 2026 to activate the account.
OBBB3 has income thresholds for deductions. If your income has exceeded the base amount, your deductions are reduced.
IDENTITY FRAUD:
If you've been in the IRS IDVerify protocol, you MUST bring your IP Pin number to file.
SENIORS:
We encourage our senior citizens to file with us, with our seniors platform pricing. As an enrolled agent, who is federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS, our seniors are sometimes THE MOST targeted group for identity fraud. We file our seniors to keep that information current, and help alleviate the possibility of ID fraud.
No tax on social security:
Social security by itself is generally NOT taxable. It becomes taxable when other income sources are added to your total income.
Seniors will get an additional deduction.
Now some light housekeeping:
Due to this weekend's potential weather forecast, we are going to more likely than not, be closed on Monday January 26.
Of course, its opening day.
For clients that are on our payroll/accounting side, your end of year packets are ready for pick up in the office. We have zero trust in the USPS at this point, and cannot guarantee that W2s will not make it to your business timely for distribution. Please make arrangements to come to the office Tuesday or Wednesday. Employee W2s and any 1099s issued must be postmarked by Feb 2 this year. We always tell you January 31. Let's continue to stick with that. If you must take these documents to the post office for mailing, HAVE THEM HAND CANCEL THEM AT THE COUNTER.
Snacks and beverages of all kinds are stocked.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
