Ever wonder how I find businesses to review?

It’s not luck, and it’s definitely not a secret.

Many retirement plans file public information that tells a story most business owners never get to see. I spend time looking beyond the surface comparing benchmarks, fees, participation, and other key details that often go unnoticed.

The interesting part isn’t finding what’s wrong. It’s discovering what’s been overlooked.

Sometimes the biggest opportunities are hiding in plain sight… and most people don’t even know where to look.

I’m looking for 2 people. 👏🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

I’m opening my books and my time to mentor two people over the next six months.

You’ll learn financial literacy, business, leadership, and what it really takes to build something of your own. You’ll also have the opportunity to earn your financial licenses, and once licensed, you’ll have the opportunity for compensation based on your effort and performance.

This isn’t for everyone. It takes commitment, accountability, and a willingness to learn. But if you’re ready to invest in yourself and create new opportunities, I’d love to hear from you.

The link is in my comments or send me a DM! If this isn’t for you but someone comes to mind, send it their way.

Inflation has changed what our money can buy, even if our paycheck hasn’t changed.

The latest Social Security report is out… and it’s a wake-up call.

According to the 2026 Social Security Trustees Report, the retirement trust fund is now projected to pay 100% of scheduled benefits only through late 2032. If Congress doesn’t act before then, the program would still pay benefits, but only about 78% of what’s currently scheduled.

Read that again…

❌ Social Security is not going away.
✅ But it is not designed to be your entire retirement plan.

This is exactly why I tell clients:
Retirement is a number, not an age.

The goal isn’t to replace Social Security, it’s to build enough wealth that you’re not dependent on it to maintain your lifestyle.

If you’ve been putting off retirement planning because you thought, “I’ll figure it out later,” this is your reminder that later comes faster than we think.

Let’s make sure your retirement income has more than one source.

If you’d like a complimentary retirement assessment, send me a message. Let’s see where you stand today so you can make informed decisions for tomorrow.

It takes an average of 42 days to fill a position. Replacing a manager can cost a company 50% to 200% of that employee's annual salary once you factor in recruiting, onboarding, training, lost productivity, and the impact on the rest of the team.

One of the most overlooked retention strategies is already sitting in your benefits package. When employees have access to financial guidance that helps them understand their retirement benefits, budget, reduce debt, and plan for the future, it reduces financial stress and increases engagement. Don't just offer benefits. Help your employees use them.

Send me a message if you'd like to explore ways to turn your retirement plan into a stronger employee retention strategy.

One thing I continue to hear from both employers and employees is this: “I have access to benefits, but I don't really understand how to use them."

Retirement planning, financial wellness, retirement income, budgeting, investing, and understanding workplace benefits remain among the biggest areas where employees seek guidance.

A retirement plan is important, but education is what helps people actually take action. I work with businesses and employee groups to provide practical, down-to-earth financial wellness workshops that help employees better understand their options and feel more confident about their financial future.

If you're a business owner, HR professional, plan sponsor, or know someone who could benefit from bringing financial education into the workplace, let's connect. And if someone comes to mind while reading this, send them this post or share my information. You never know whose future could change from having access to the right education at the right time.

CalPERS is making major changes to how it manages retirement money, and it serves as a good reminder of something important: your retirement shouldn’t depend on just one bucket.

CalPERS. Social Security. Retirement accounts. Savings. Investments.

The real question is: Do they all work together?

Too many people assume they’ll be fine in retirement without ever looking at the full picture. A quick review today could save a lot of stress tomorrow.

Retirement is a number, not an age. Know yours.

It’s the first US public pension to formally adopt the total portfolio approach used by about a dozen sovereign wealth funds in the Asia-Pacific region and Canada.
