As Malcolm X once said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” DOZ recognizes the need for diversity within the accounting profession, and continues to work closely with the INCPAS and several colleges and universities in Indiana and Texas to continue to advocate for the accounting profession and provide opportunities to students in need.
DOZ has had a long-standing partnership with the Purdue Business Opportunity Program (BOP) and the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. Each of these organizations boast decades of history identifying, mentoring, and shaping the best and brightest business students by providing educational and networking opportunities that students might not otherwise have had. Unfortunately, in the last year, each of these organizations have also faced strong headwinds that are threatening to derail their missions of providing access to education and opportunities. Now more than ever, these organizations are relying on donations from private organizations to continue to provide access to students.
In honor of Black History Month, and to continue to drive positive change, the DOZ DEI committee is working to raise $4,000 to support the Purdue Business Opportunity Program and the McCoy College of Business Foundation.
