People don’t just refer you because of what you do. They refer you because of WHO they BELIEVE you are 🤝

And sometimes, you don’t even know you’ve been referred…

Awhile back, I helped someone who didn’t think they had much of a chance of getting improved from 70% to 100% for VA disability benefits. We re-applied…got denied…appealed and waited…⏰

It worked!!! They ended up receiving thousands of dollars in additional income for the REST of their LIVES 🙏

And I didn’t make a dime from helping them…I just thought it was the right thing to do💡

I think that’s the value of being a little different. You don’t always have to be the smartest person in the room or have the perfect sales pitch…Sometimes, you just have to be willing to help when you don’t have to…when it’s INCONVENIENT 💯

Funny thing is..the things you do when you’re NOT trying to get business are often the things that bring you business…Because referrals aren’t really about business…They’re about TRUST ❤️

- GRACE for that person you feel may be ignoring you but is going through a major health situation 🏥
- GRACE for your spouse juggling 30 different roles and tasks 😪
- GRACE for that client that is struggling through investing in a positive change for themselves ↗️
- GRACE for that person that cut you off in traffic that was rushing home to not miss family dinner 🚗
- GRACE to yourself to LET GO of that #1 hard decision you know you need to make 🤝

For a bit of background on my grandfather-in-law John, he’s:

1. An esteemed alumni from NC State that LOVES his WOLFPACK NATION 🐺
2. A former athlete for State’s 1968 World Series Baseball team ⚾️
3. Someone I’m PROUD to call FAMILY 🙏

We created this scholarship in his honor to CELEBRATE and SUPPORT the academic success of NC State students and give back to a university that has given us SO much and SO MANY opportunities 🔴 ⚪️
