The Healthy Families & Workplaces Act (HFWA) was enacted and took effect on July 14, 2020, requiring all employers in Colorado to provide paid leave for COVID-related needs and adding paid leave for other health and safety needs as of 2021 (or 2022 for certain small employers). HFWA tasked the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment Division of Labor Standards and Statistics (DLSS) with implementation, rulemaking, and enforcement.
