The City of Central City is proud to announce the promotion of employee Wesley Capuria to the title of Head of Facilities Maintenance.

Wesley has been a dedicated employee of the city for 25 years. Those who know him know that his work ethic and dedication is beyond commendable. Wesley takes care of custodial duties for all city owned buildings and properties, while also assisting the Public Works Department, Central City Water Department and City Administration. Wesley is also a firefighter with the Central City Fire Department, where he has served for 42 years.

Wesley was presented this promotion by Interim Mayor Malcolm West and Interim City Administrator Jordan Hooper on Thursday July 9th, 2026.

Wesley, on behalf of the City of Central City, we would like to congratulate you on your promotion and look forward to serving the citizens of this city for many more years to come.

We have a big fun filled event day planned for you all!!! EVERYONE invited to join us!

The Muhlenberg county band will be selling concessions!!! We have so much planned!!

Thanks to Bouncy B’s we will be having a foam party!!

We have tons of folks involved and we will be having some summer fun!! I’m so excited to be able to have this for our community!!

The activities are completely FREE!

Fireworks and consumer fireworks shall not be used, ignited, fired, or exploded in the city limits of the City of Central City, Kentucky, except as follows:
a. Fireworks and consumer fireworks must be handled, stored, used, possessed, and sold in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local law.
b. Fireworks and consumer fireworks may only be used, ignited, fired, or exploded between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and midnight on December 31, January 1st, July 3rd and July 4th.
c. No person may use, ignite, fire, or explode any fireworks or consumer fireworks as defined in KRS 227.702(2) and (3) if they are under the age of eighteen (18), or within fifty (50) feet of any structure, motor vehicle (whether operational or non-operational), or any other person, or where the use of such places that person in violation of any other law, regulation or ordinance.
