There are many ways to minimize stress, including:
Exercise: Physical activity can improve your emotional well-being. Try to get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity each week. You can also try strength training exercises for your major muscle groups at least twice a week.
Sleep: Get enough sleep by going to bed and waking up at the same time each day. Adults need 7 or more hours of sleep per night.
Eat well: Eat a healthy diet with fruits, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, and low-fat or no-fat dairy. Limit foods with unhealthy fats, salt, and added sugars.
Take breaks: Take breaks when needed, especially at work.
Practice relaxation: Try muscle relaxation, breathing or meditation exercises, prayer, yoga, or swimming.
Spend time in nature: Spend time outdoors or listen to quiet music.
Make time for fun: Plan fun activities that you enjoy, like reading, knitting, doing an art project, or playing a game.
Talk about your problems: Talking about what's bothering you can help lower your stress.
Seek help: If you're struggling to manage stress on your own, you can seek professional help from a doctor or mental health professional.
