📢 Let's talk about ways to help prevent you from becoming a victim to tax scam.
First, try to get to know your tax preparer, tax advisory, tax specialist by asking these most important questions!
#1. Are you certified and bonded?
*Be sure to verify that your tax preparer has a valid PTIN number and for CA RESIDENTS---> Ask to see their CTEC CERTIFICTATE!
(If that individual becomes reluctant to provide you with the necessary documents, please do not move forward with conducting business with them and find someone who is willing to provide that information to you.)
#2. Have you had the proper education to assist me with my tax needs considering the fact that every year the tax law changes. Are you up to date on any tax laws that may have went into effect?
#3. Do you mind showing me your proper credentials to give me a piece of mind?
#4. What type of software will you be utilizing to file my taxes?
Most tax filers never address these questions when moving forward with hiring someone to assist them with filing their tax return, usually the question asked is "HOW MUCH DO YOU CHANGE?
