As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy, the people who safeguard them, and the enduring promise of a nation built on courage, service, and hope.
Independence was not secured by words alone. It was won through courage, conviction, and the willingness of ordinary people to endure extraordinary hardship in pursuit of liberty. Since that first declaration, generations of Americans have answered the call to defend our freedoms — on battlefields abroad, in service at home, and through daily acts of commitment to something greater than themselves.
This Fourth of July, may we celebrate with pride, but also with remembrance. May we honor those who gave their lives, those who served and returned forever changed, and those who still stand ready today. Their sacrifice is woven into the fabric of our country and reminds us that liberty must never be taken for granted.
