Budget & Tax Tip:

Keep all receipts electronic and physical ones to know where your money is going. You can study and identify how to discipline yourself as well as digitize all receipts that are relevant when you file your taxes if you're a sole proprietor and especially an LLC.

Financial Literacy Word of the Day: IDR (Income-Driven Repayment Plan)

For millions of federal student loan debtors, income-driven repayment schemes offer a lifeline. The term "income-driven repayment" refers to a group of plans that determine a borrower's monthly student loan payment based on their earnings. Income-Based Repayment (IBR), Income-Contingent Repayment (ICR), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), and Revised Pay As You Earn (RPAE) are examples of these schemes (REPAYE).

A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE...
If you are presently paying on a student loan, or if it's in deferment, what would any amount of the loan, forgiven, do for you and your future?
Please like, comment, and share. Sharing is caring😊

Setting Goals Saturday:

"Begin with the end in mind." ~Stephen Covey

This is one of my favorite quotes. Today ends the calendar week. This is a great time to just take 30 - 60 minutes and plan out your upcoming week. A few examples of what that may be like for you are:
- meal planning for the week
- around the house projects
- any meetings you've set, create reminders
- budgeting for the week (what is your income and what are the bills that are coming up?)
- an exercise routine
You may add to this list for we can all use one another's great ideas!

Financial Literacy Word of the Day: ICR (Income-Contingent Repayment Plan)

This option is available for all Direct loans as well as Direct PLUS loans for graduate and professional students. Additionally, for a borrower with a Parent PLUS loan, this is the only income-driven repayment plan available. The Parent PLUS loan is ineligible on its own. This income-driven option becomes available if the debt is combined into a Direct Consolidation loan. The only income-driven repayment plan that allows Direct Consolidation loans with a Parent PLUS loan is this one.

A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE...
Did you know that with an ICR if there's a remaining balance after 25 years, it can be forgiven, however, the borrower may have to pay the tax on the forgiven balance?

Thursday Thoughts:
What is the single worst quality a person can have?

Let me know what your first thought was.

My response would be is knowing someone that is self-absorbed and to carry on as if the world revolved around only them.

Financial Literacy Word of the Day: IBR (Income-Based Repayment Plan)

If the borrower has FFEL Program loans, this is the sole income-driven repayment plan available. This repayment plan is available for both FFEL and Direct Loans. Direct consolidation loans that include a Parent PLUS loan are not eligible.

Unless the funds were borrowed after July 1, 2014, in which case the repayment time is reduced to 20 years. If a balance remains at the end of the payback period, it is forgiven.

A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE...
Did you know that the borrowers’ income must be low compared to their eligible federal student loan debt? How many of you have more debt toward your student loan compared to your monthly liveable expenses?

Wisdom Wednesday - Happy Hump Day!!

“Knowledge is not wisdom: cleverness is not, not without awareness of our death, not without recalling just how brief our flare is. He who overreaches will, in his overreaching, lose what he possesses, betray what he has now. That which is beyond us, which is greater than the human, the unattainably great, is for the mad, or for those who listen to the mad, and then believe them.” ~Euripides

Financial Literacy Word of the Day:
PAYE (Pay as You Earn Repayment) Plan

This plan went into effect on December 21, 2012, and it only pertains to Direct Loans, while some FFEL program loans may be taken into account when considering whether or not a financial hardship exists. Borrowers who took out a loan after October 1, 2007, and received a Direct Loan disbursement on or after October 1, 2011, are eligible for the scheme.

A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE...
Were you aware that any unpaid interest is capitalized if the borrower no longer qualifies for an income-driven repayment plan or the borrower leaves the plan.?

"We must cultivate our own mind's garden." ~Voltaire

Cultivating your own mind’s garden involves a few essential and ongoing steps.
First, you nourish the ground and keep it fertile. (Challenge yourself to create more than you consume.)
Second, you decide on the type of seeds you want to plant. ( We are what we think about because we live in a world of thought.)
And third, you continue to pluck out the weeds and water the seeds as they bloom and grow. (Self-confidence mantras remind me of my inner beauty and power. A daily practice of gratitude reminds me of my ocean of blessings.)
A Simple Philosophy to Live By:
I make sure to take good care of my mind and body, and so I live with inner peace, knowing that they will also take care of me.
“So plant your own gardens and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.”

Housing Term: Starter Homes

Starter homes (small and inexpensive) are appealing to first-time buyers, but they are rarely found in today's new developments, which cater more to step-up and status homes.

Previously owned starter homes are now available for rent.

Many homes were foreclosed on during the previous decade's recession and housing downturn. Due to a decrease in income, some homeowners were forced to return their homes to the bank or mortgage company.

A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE...
In today's mindset for many people that move into a place to call home can be considered a starter home for renting. What are your thoughts?
