As many of you all know, many will tell you to start a business.

But it looks and feels different when you're establishing your business for growth — where you can be paid and build your wealth from it. Excited to share that we launched our signature talk series, The Wallet, with different versions. The first one was to a group of creatives and entrepreneurs we're in community with, called Creatives Of Faith. So last night we hosted the workshop around Business and Being.

Here's the play: we open with POW — Point of Wallet — because your messy middle isn't the whole story, it's just where you're starting from. Then we work the Folds: Budget (your real number, not your best-month number), Spending (the gap between what you think you spend and what you actually do), Saving (buckets with a job, for you AND the business), and Investing/Retirement (funding the actual life, not just the account). There was a ton of questions, but amazing takeaways for us and those attending. Also plan on bringing this to the local libraries in Charlotte as we grow the scope of it.

Our plan is to continue to bring not only The Wallet for your ERG, nonprofit, or small groups, but also more financial wellness workshops/speaking opportunities.

I know you aren’t used to be showing up here, but there’s been a shift and a split.

Both my personal voice and the brand voice is important to how we shape what it looks like to know what financial planning is and how it fits into our wallet!

In this economy — the conversation has to be different to move differently!

Your Money Feels Messy. But It Doesn't Have To.

You're doing everything "right." You have income. You're paying bills. You're trying to save. But something still feels... chaotic.

Here's what I know: that feeling isn't a personal failure. It's a signal that your financial structure doesn't match your life.
And that's exactly fixable.

I work with people in the messy middle—that space between where you are with your money right now and where you actually want to be. And I've learned that clarity comes before change.
That's why I built two different entry points:

1. Start with the Budget Audit if you need to see what's really happening. We'll analyze your spending patterns, cash flow, and financial decisions. You'll get a clear breakdown of what's working, what's misaligned, and where your money can actually go. Some clients find thousands they didn't know they had.

2. Go straight to Budget Done For You if you're ready for a complete system. I'll build you a personalized budget that actually fits your income, your priorities, and your real life—no templates, no restrictions that don't make sense.

One freelancer came to me overwhelmed by unpredictable income. Through this process, we restructured her cash flow, built in breathing room, and created a system where she could save and enjoy her life. The shift wasn't just in her numbers—it was in how she felt about money.

What would change if you had a budget that actually made sense?

Take the first step today.

At The Brands + Bands Strategy Group, we believe financial planning isn’t something you wait for — it’s something you use while you’re building.

For too long, it’s been marketed to people who already “made it.” But bills don’t wait, layoffs don’t wait, and life definitely doesn’t wait for your income to feel perfect.

That’s why Nadia Vanderhall built this work: to support the “pre-rich” — people earning under $100K who still need real structure, real clarity, and a plan that works with the money they have right now.

We were featured in Parade recently talking about exactly this — why financial planning still matters at this income level and what to ask before working with an advisor.

Q for your A: What money decision are you delaying “until later”?

Share this with someone who needs a plan that meets them where they are.

Your employees are nodding along in meetings while running debt math in their heads. 💡

59% are financially stressed. 56% say it's hurting their productivity at work. And most of them are too embarrassed to ask for help — even when the resources exist.

I saw this firsthand when I led a financial wellness webinar series for Patelco Credit Union. Real people showed up because they needed it. Not because HR told them to. And they left with actual frameworks, not just another slide deck they'd forget by Friday.

Andrew Farrell put it perfectly: "The time and care she put into laying the groundwork around understanding your money landscape proved to be an invaluable resource for our community."

The full breakdown — including what we covered and what most organizations are still missing — is live on the blog now. Here's the link: https://www.thebrandsandbands.com/blog/financial-stress-employee-engagement

If your company or ERG is ready to do more than check the wellness box, I'm booking corporate webinars and financial wellness series now.

POV: Your company brings in a financial wellness speaker and people stay after the workshop because they still have questions.

Recently, our team participated in a two-part savings series that explored how employees can navigate saving in today’s economy and better understand the tools available to support their financial goals.

What made the sessions impactful wasn’t just the information—it was the conversation.

From retirement planning and catch-up strategies to finding room in the budget to save and understanding income planning options, employees had the opportunity to ask questions that reflected where they are right now in their financial journey.

Financial wellness looks different for everyone, which is why creating space for education, discussion, and practical next steps matters.

A special thank you to our founder Nadia Vanderhall for helping turn a complex topic into an approachable and actionable conversation for our employees. Learn more about that what that experience looks like here: https://www.thebrandsandbands.com/book-me-to-speak

Recap from the yapp 🗣️💸

America’s savings rate just dropped to 2.6% — the lowest since 2008. Meanwhile folks are trying to budget in an economy that keeps saying “good luck.”

So when 600+ people pulled up to our Financial Wellness Series with Patelco Credit Union? I wasn’t shocked. People want REAL conversations about money.

Because generic advice doesn’t work for everybody. Your budget has to fit YOUR life, YOUR income, and YOUR capacity. Consistency over perfection. Every time.

One thing we talked about:

Storing money ≠ growing money

You don’t have to choose between surviving now and planning for later

It’s not “too late” — but we do have to start where we are

Q for your A: How are you feeling about your account intelligence right now?

And if your ERG, org, or conference needs this conversation — connect. If you would like to have your company/ERG/organization have me - refer me to them!

Thank you, more please!
