HOT TAKE: It should be illegal to have a tax due date fall on a Monday! 🙃

If you clocked that quarterly taxes don't always follow a "quarterly" schedule, here's why ↓

Way back in the day, Tax Day used to be March 15th, so Congress counted three months out and set June 15th as the next estimated tax deadline. 📆

But when Tax Day got pushed back to April 15th (not complaining, btw), the June 15th deadline stayed the same.

Soooo, unfortunately, that's why your Q2 estimated taxes are due just two short months after you paid your April ones.

I don't make the rules; I just make sure you don't miss the deadlines! 🤷

The *biggest* benefit of good bookkeeping is having up-to-date data to make decisions with all year long.

You still need to know how much money you made as a small business owner in May.

You still need to know where your business is spending the most money.

Treating your bookkeeping like it's optional until next year is exactlyyyy how you end up paying a premium for a last-minute clean-up, iykyk. 🥴

Airport chat...kinda like car chat, but different ...

Getting in the rooms, having the convos, and being honest with yourself & others...it will move the needle for your business and your life more than you know.

It's so important to do these things...admit when you're struggling, tell someone when your gut is nagging you & you're hesitating, and share those hard decisions you're trying to make. Not making a decision is STILL a decision...just usually the decision that leads to more pain and less growth.

Yes, I'm the odd one being a "foreigner" in a business membership with women in Pittsburgh - but it's been one of my favorite decisions in business. Find your tribe & connect with them often. So many of us are alone in business...find a table that welcomes you, encourages you, and cheers your next move. Be selective with the table you choose, too...there are many out there! I'm thankful for this one.

Also, got a compliment on my sweatshirt as I walked into the airport. ❤️ Go be the boss you already are.
