⚠️ Washington State scam alert — please share broadly.

Scammers are targeting injured workers in Washington, especially Spanish-speaking individuals with workers' comp claims. They're falsely saying workers must pay money to receive their benefits or move a claim forward.

This is NOT true. L&I and the BIIA never ask workers to pay upfront fees.

If you get a suspicious call, text, or message:

✔ Report it to the WA Attorney General

🚨 Last call: July 10, 2026 is the deadline to protect your right to an IRS penalty refund.

If any of this sounds like you between January 2020 and July 2023 — filed late, paid a penalty for filing or paying late, or still owe an unpaid penalty from that window — please don't wait any longer.

Here's the honest truth: the legal case behind this is still under appeal, so a final answer may take a while. But the July 10 deadline doesn't care about that. If you don't file a protective claim by then, you lose your shot at a refund — period.

We're actively filing these claims for clients right now (IRS Form 843), but the clock is ticking and the paperwork needs lead time.

If there's any chance this applies to you, call our office today. We'd rather review your situation and tell you it doesn't apply than have you miss this window entirely.

⏰ URGENT: You could be owed a refund from the IRS - but only if you act before July 10, 2026.

Here's what's going on: during the COVID-19 disaster period (Jan 2020 – July 2023), the IRS charged a lot of taxpayers penalties and interest for filing or paying late. New litigation suggests some of that wasn't supposed to happen.

You might be affected if you:
✔ Filed a tax return late between Jan 2020 and July 2023
✔ Paid IRS penalties during that time
✔ Still owe penalties from that period (even unpaid ones may qualify)

The catch? Nothing happens automatically. You have to file a claim — and the deadline is *July 10, 2026*. Miss it, and you lose the right to that refund for good.
