๐Ÿˆ Some of you have spent more time researching your fantasy football draft this month than you've spent reviewing your 401(k) in the last five years. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You know your sleeper picks.

You know who you're taking in the first round.

You've watched 14 different videos explaining why THIS is finally the year your team wins the league.

Meanwhileโ€ฆ

Your 401(k): โ€œHey, remember me?โ€ ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜‚

In all seriousness, you don't need to check your retirement account every weekโ€”but you SHOULD know what you own, how much you're contributing, and whether your investments still make sense for your goals.

So after you finish that 3-hour mock draft tonight, maybe give your retirement plan 10 minutes too. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ“ˆ

And if you look at it and have absolutely no idea what you're looking atโ€ฆ

That's where I come in.

๐Ÿช™ Would you rather have $1,000,000 todayโ€ฆ or a penny that doubles every day for 30 days?

Most people would probably take the million.

But that penny?

Day 1: $0.01
Day 2: $0.02
Day 5: $0.16
Day 10: $5.12
Day 15: $163.84
Day 20: $5,242.88
Day 25: $167,772.16
Day 28: $1,342,177.28
Day 30: $5,368,709.12 ๐Ÿคฏ

Now, obviously, your investment account isn't going to double every day. ๐Ÿ˜‚

But the example demonstrates something incredibly important:

๐Ÿ“ˆ Compound growth can become MUCH more powerful with time.

When your money earns a return, and then those earnings have the opportunity to earn a return, growth can begin building on itself. This is when your money really begins to work for you.

And one of the biggest advantages you can give that process is something you can't buy later:

โฐ TIME.

You don't have to wait until you have thousands of dollars to start investing. Starting small and staying consistent matters more than you might think.

Give your money as much time as possible to work for you. ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Want to see what consistent investing could potentially look like over the next 10, 20, or 30 years? Let's sit down, make a plan and run the numbers.

๐Ÿ“ฌ Bold financial strategy of the day:

Receive a statement in the mail.

Open it.

Look at approximately 47 numbers you don't understand.

Nod your head like it all makes sense.

Put it in a drawer.

Repeat every 3 months for the next 30 years. ๐Ÿ˜‚

If this is your current financial planโ€ฆ we should probably talk.

Bring me the statement. Bring me the account you forgot about. Bring me the paperwork you don't understand.

You don't have to know what everything means.

That's my job. ๐Ÿคฃ

Come in, give me a call, or shoot me an email. It costs nothing to sit down and see if there's something I can help with.

๐Ÿ“‰ Let's say your investment account went down today.

Naturally, there is only one response:

Panic. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Check it again 14 minutes later.

Google โ€œIs the stock market crashing?โ€

Consider changing your entire investment strategy.

Check it one more time just to make sure. ๐Ÿ˜‚

ORโ€ฆ

Remember that you're investing for the next 20โ€“30 years, not just until next Tuesday. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

A good financial plan is designed with bad market days in mind.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is close the app and go enjoy your day. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And if you're not sure whether your investments actually match your goals, come sit down with me. It doesn't cost anything to have a conversation.

We'll take a look at where you're at, talk about where you want to go, and see if there's anything I can do to help you get there.

Worst case? You leave with a little more clarity and it cost you $0. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Friendly reminder: You donโ€™t have to have your finances figured out before talking to a financial advisor.

โ€œI donโ€™t know where to start.โ€

โ€œI probably shouldโ€™ve started sooner.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t really understand investing.โ€

โ€œI have no idea if Iโ€™m saving enough.โ€

Perfect.

If you had everything figured out already, Iโ€™d be a lot less useful. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You bring the questions. Iโ€™ll help with the answers.

No judgment. And I promise there isnโ€™t a test afterward. ๐Ÿคฃ

๐Ÿ’ต $100 today won't buy what $100 used toโ€ฆ and it won't buy what $100 will in the future.

We notice inflation at the grocery store, the gas pump, restaurants, and just about everywhere else. ๐Ÿ›’โ›ฝ

But there's another place inflation matters:

Your future.

If you're planning to retire 10, 20, or 30+ years from now, it's not enough to simply ask:

๐Ÿ’ญ "How much money do I want to have?"

You also need to ask:

"What will that money actually BUY when I get there?" ๐Ÿค”

That's one reason investing and long-term financial planning can be so important. Your retirement savings don't just need to growโ€”you need to consider how rising costs could affect the lifestyle you're planning for.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Build for the future.
๐Ÿ”„ Review your plan along the way.
๐ŸŽฏ Make adjustments as your goals and circumstances change.

If you haven't accounted for inflation in your retirement plan, let's take a look at it together.

Don't just plan for retirement. Plan for what retirement may actually cost.

๐Ÿšจ Just a friendly reminder for anyone who may not knowโ€ฆ

My office door is always open.

And I mean that quite literally. You are allowed to walk in. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You don't need to:

โŒ Have a certain amount of money before you're โ€œallowedโ€ to ask for help
โŒ Understand the stock market
โŒ Be close to retirement
โŒ Have everything figured out
โŒ Already be a client
โŒ Schedule a meeting

You really can just stop in and talk to me.

Yet somehow, despite my best efforts, people continue to drive right past my office every day like stopping in will automatically enroll them in a 3-hour seminar on Roth IRAs. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I promise it's not that serious.

Have a 401(k) from an old job? Stop in.

Want to start investing but don't know where to begin? Stop in.

Not sure if you're saving enough? Stop in.

Have a financial question you've been meaning to ask someone for the last two years?

Come ask me. It's literally my job. ๐Ÿคฃ

No pressure. No judgment. You don't need to show up with a folder full of financial statements.

Sometimes it can just be an impromptu conversation.

And if randomly walking into my office isn't your thing, that's okay too. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Give me a call, shoot me an email, or send me a text. Whatever is easiest for you.

๐ŸŽฏ Quick question: Do you know YOUR retirement number?

Not how much your neighbor has.

Not what some article says you "should" have saved by your age.

Your number.

The amount you'll actually need depends on what you want retirement to look like.

โœˆ๏ธ Do you want to travel?

๐Ÿก Will your house be paid off?

โ›ณ How do you plan to spend your free time?

๐Ÿ’ฐ How much monthly income will you need?

๐Ÿ“… When do you actually want to retire?

Two people can be the exact same age, earn the same income, and still need completely different amounts to retire comfortably.

That's why simply "saving as much as I can" isn't really a retirement plan.

You should know what you're working toward.

If you don't know your retirement numberโ€”or you haven't checked it in a whileโ€”let's figure it out. ๐Ÿ“Š

Retirement shouldn't be a guessing game. Let's put a numberโ€”and a planโ€”behind it. ๐ŸŽฏ

08/17/2026

๐Ÿ“‰ Let's say the market droppedโ€ฆ should you be worried?

Seeing your investment account go down is never fun.

When markets get volatile, it's natural to feel like you need to DO something.

Sell. Move to cash. Wait until things "calm down."

But sometimes, the most important thing you can do is remember why you invested in the first place. ๐ŸŽฏ

If you're investing for a goal that's 10, 20, or 30 years away, your plan shouldn't necessarily change because of what happened in the market this week.

Markets will have good days. ๐Ÿ“ˆ
Markets will have bad days. ๐Ÿ“‰

A well-built financial plan should account for both.

Before making an emotional decision with your investments, ask yourself:

"Did my long-term goals changeโ€ฆ or did the market just have a bad week?" ๐Ÿค”

Those are two very different things.

If market swings have you questioning your investments or wondering whether your portfolio still fits your goals, let's review it together.

๐Ÿšจ Thinking about taking money out of your retirement account early? Read this first.

Your retirement account might look like a convenient place to turn when you need extra cashโ€”but withdrawing money early can come with a bigger cost than you realize.

For many retirement accounts, taking a distribution before age 59ยฝ can potentially mean:

๐Ÿ’ธ A 10% additional federal tax on the taxable portion of the early distribution
๐Ÿงพ Ordinary income taxes may also be owed
๐Ÿ“‰ Losing future growth that money could have generated for years or even decades

That last one is easy to overlook.

You're not just spending the money you withdraw todayโ€”you're also giving up the potential future value of that money.

There ARE exceptions to the 10% additional tax depending on the type of retirement account and your circumstances, so don't automatically assume you have to take the hit.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Before pulling money from a retirement account, know your options.

A quick conversation beforehand could help you understand the potential tax consequences and whether another strategy makes more sense.
