⏰ Friendly tax deadline reminder ⏰

In case you’ve lost track of time, the tax filing deadline is this Wednesday, April 15.

If you haven’t filed yet, I recommend filing an extension.
✅ Good news: if we prepared your return last year, we file your extension automatically—nothing you need to do.

⚠️ Just a reminder: an extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. Any balance due should still be paid by April 15 to avoid penalties and interest.

As always, reach out if you have questions—we’re happy to help.

🚨 Today is the pass‑through entity deadline! 🚨
That includes partnerships and S‑corps.

✅ Existing clients: If you haven’t dropped off your info yet, no worries — we automatically filed an extension for you. Your new due date is September 15, 2026.

⚠️ Not a client yet? This is your friendly reminder to file an extension today if you haven't filed already. Missing it can mean automatic late‑filing penalties, even if no tax is due.

If you need help or have questions, feel free to reach out.

I get multiple fake IRS calls every day claiming I have an unresolved tax filing, a past‑due account, or some urgent issue that needs immediate action.

They’re scams — but they sound real enough to cause stress.

The IRS publishes a “Dirty Dozen” list each year to highlight the most common tax scams, and I’ve shared this year’s list here. If something pushes urgency or asks for personal information, pause and double‑check before responding.

Each year, the IRS publishes its “Dirty Dozen” list to highlight the most common tax scams they’re seeing. These schemes tend to spike during tax season—but many happen year‑round. Here’s this year’s list: Fake IRS emails & texts Scammers send emails or texts that look official - s...

When you see the IRS or Comptroller logo, does your brain instantly shut down? Even though it’s written in English, it might as well be another language.

That’s one of the perks of being an AMD client — we handle those notices for you. We break down what they actually mean, check them against your return, and make sure you’re not paying something you already paid.

Lately, we’ve seen a lot of notices that don’t reflect payments made with the original return. With the government shutdown slowing everything down, getting a refund on an accidental double payment could take months.

At AMD, notice review is included with your tax preparation — no extra charge, just peace of mind.

Tax season may still feel far away, but the 3rd quarter estimated payment deadline is coming up on September 15th(!) Around this time of year, we often get questions about tax projections — what they are, why they matter, and whether they might be right for you.

To make things easier, we’ve put together a new Tax Projection FAQ on our website. It covers the most common questions we hear and explains how a projection can help you avoid surprises come April.
