Our bucket had a great time this morning meeting Loop - a recycling education superstar brought to you by . While Loop can feed on many of your recyclables, he can’t eat food scraps and would rather your compost your scraps 💚♻️

♻️🍕 Holy compost, Batman!

We've officially partnered with WasteNot Compost to help keep food waste and pizza boxes out of landfills!

That's right... even those gloriously greasy pizza boxes that recycling has been judging all these years finally have a purpose.

In just our first TWO weeks, we've already kept 20 pounds of waste out of landfills! 🎉 That's roughly the weight of a moving blanket... or one exceptionally chunky house cat.

Here's what's new around the office:
🥗 Food scraps? Compost 'em.
☕ Coffee grounds? Compost 'em.
🍌 Banana peels? Compost 'em.
🍕 Greasy pizza boxes? Believe it or not... compost 'em.

Even our paper office plates are compostable, so lunch cleanup just got a whole lot greener.

This is just the beginning, too.

We'll be adding more compostable office items as the program grows because every banana peel, coffee filter, and leftover crust is one less thing headed to a landfill.

We're excited to do our part to make Chicago a little cleaner... one slice at a time. 🍕🌎💚

WasteNot is pleased to announce a 5 year extension of our municipal compost collection agreement with the !

Since 2023, WasteNot has been providing Lake Forest residents and businesses with convenient curbside compost collection services to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reliance on landfills.

The agreement extension builds upon a partnership that has led to over 400,000 pounds of waste being diverted with contributions from commercial locations like schools and City Hall in addition to hundreds of residents.

Composting just got easier in Woodstock!

We are excited to announce an expansion of our compost drop-off program in partnership with the .

Residents of Woodstock and surrounding areas are able to sign up to drop-off their compostable waste at this site behind the Blue Lotus Temple in Downtown Woodstock. Residents have made a huge impact with over 11,000 pounds of compostable waste diverted from landfills to date from this site.
