All down my timeline are jokes of clients and Tax Preparers getting that refund today! Them deposits hit EARLY TOO!!! Be responsible! I can't help but to put on my 🤓Financial Literacy hat and give a few suggestions (especially if your refund is over $5k):

👉🏾Put $3k in a savings account. This is your emergency fund and should not be touched unless you have an emergency. Challenge yourself to save it as long as you can throughout the year.

👉🏾Invest at least 10%

👉🏾Invest into an asset like an online business, affiliate opportunity even property, that can grow your money. (Your refund shouldn't be your biggest check of the year!)

👉🏾Credit Repair. Don't forget credit repair, whether DIY or Done For You, if you're trying to buy a home, upgrade your car or build business credit.

👉🏾If you're living paycheck to paycheck, what sense does it make to ball out? Pay off a few bills.

❤️Some of you make the same mistakes with this money every year and in a few weeks you'll wonder where it all went. Invest in YOU first. ❤️

I'm still accepting new clients. (I'm very selective & I don't LIE for nobody! 😉)

Tax Refund Alert

Please do not forget that if you received a cash advance, it will be paid back out of your tax refund. Your tax preparation fees will also be deducted.

For example, if you received a $7,000 cash advance and your total refund is $8,000, do not expect the full $8,000 to hit your account. After the advance is paid back and fees are deducted, you may only receive a few hundred dollars, and in some cases just a few dollars, on your expected deposit date.

Also, if you owe a debt, the IRS will offset it first. No matter how much is left after that debt is taken, your tax preparation fees will still be deducted.

Please keep this in mind before your deposit date so there are no surprises.

If you want to check to see if your refund will be offset call 1.800.304.3107

🚨 Tax Refund Alert 🚨

The PATH Act hold has officially lifted for taxpayers who claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. According to the IRS, many refunds are expected by March 2, and deposits are expected to start arriving next week. In previous years, some refunds have arrived earlier, but there is never a guarantee.

Please note, no deposits will be processed today. Be sure to watch the IRS website this week for updated deposit dates.

Also remember, filing your return in January does not automatically place you in the first batch of refunds or guarantee a specific deposit date. In fact, some taxpayers who file in early February may receive their refunds before those who filed in January.

Refunds can be delayed for several reasons, including errors, fraud filters, identity verification, or wage and dependent reviews. Most of the time, these delays are outside of your tax professional’s control and do not automatically mean there is an issue with your return.

Stay patient and continue checking for updates through the IRS website.

As we get closer to the 15th and refunds start moving, let me remind you of something important.

If you received a cash advance, remember that when your refund hits, that advance has to be paid back first. If you have any outstanding debts, those will come out of your refund. The interest for the cash advance comes out. Then the tax preparation fee has to be paid.

I know many of you check Where’s My Refund every day. Before you call your tax preparer thinking we took your money, please read what the IRS site says. It will clearly tell you if a debt was taken.

Also, if your fees were not taken out of your refund, you are still responsible for paying your tax preparation fee. Our payment is for the service of preparing your tax return. It is not based on whether you receive a refund or how much you receive.

If you chose to have your fees taken out of your refund, that is a bank service. There are bank fees and software fees attached. In those cases, tax pros do not receive the full amount you see. The bank and software company receive a portion.

Most people do not realize there is also a cost to the tax pro for every client who gets a cash advance. We pay fees for advances, electronic signatures, and efiling.

We never receive the full fee you think we do. That is called the cost of doing business.

IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION:

If you have dependents and are receiving EITC/CTC/ACTC please take note: you will not receive a refund date until after February 15th.

We kindly ask that you refrain from checking the "Where's My Refund" tool multiple times a day. The information will not change.

Please be patient during this process. If you are asking many questions about your inquiries regarding the refund date will not expedite the timeline.

📢 U.S. Government Shutdown Has Started….. Here’s What You Need to Know About Taxes 🇺🇸

The federal government officially entered a partial shutdown on January 31, 2026 because Congress failed to pass funding for all federal agencies before the deadline. Lawmakers are currently in a budget fight; especially over funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and immigration policy… which stalled final spending bills and caused funding to lapse.

So what does this mean for taxpayers and tax preparers? 🤔

✅ Tax preparation and e-filing are still happening normally.

☑️ You can still prepare & submit your tax returns electronically.

✅ Tax refunds are still being processed and issued… for now.

☑️ IRS leadership has stated that refund checks should not be delayed by this partial shutdown.

⚠️ However, some IRS services could slow down if the shutdown continues:
🔹 Customer service phone lines & help centers may have reduced staffing.
🔹 Paper return processing and mailed correspondence may take longer.
🔹 Responses to notices, audits, and disputes could be delayed.

💡 Important: A shutdown doesn’t change tax deadlines; returns are still due on time (e.g., April 15 for most taxpayers).

🗣️ Why It Happened:
The shutdown began because Congress did not finalize all federal appropriations bills by the funding deadline. Lawmakers have been in a standoff, in particular over funding for the Department of Homeland Security and related immigration policy issues which prevented approval of the final budget package.

📌 Bottom Line:
➡️ File your taxes as usual.
➡️ Refunds are expected to continue.
➡️ Be prepared for slower IRS responses or delays in paper-based services while the shutdown continues.

I don’t care how many kids you have.

If your income is too high, too low, you had no federal taxes taken out, or you’re self-employed, please stop expecting unrealistic tax refunds.

Tax refunds are not based solely on how many children you have.

Your income, withholding, filing status, and credits all matter.

Tax refunds and tax fee information you need to know.

If you do not have EITC or ACTC on your return, your refund is typically processed within 8 to 21 days.

If you do have EITC or ACTC, your refund will not be processed until after February 15. This is an IRS rule, not a tax office delay.

If you received a cash advance, remember this order:

The cash advance is taken off the top
Then tax prep fees are taken
You receive the remaining balance

Now let’s talk about fees coming out of your refund.

If you elected to have your fees taken out of your refund and you are also receiving a state refund, and your tax company selected for it to be deposited through a third-party tax bank, here’s what happens:

If your state refund comes before your federal, the bank will apply it to:

Your cash advance first

If no cash advance, then toward your fees

When your federal refund is released, your state and federal will be deposited together.

Important banking reminder:

If you chose to have your fees taken out of your refund, that is a bank service.

Your personal bank information is not listed on your tax return.

The third-party bank’s information is listed instead.

Your personal bank information is only on the third-party bank application.

So if you call the IRS and they say your bank account is not on the return, that is normal. No one is stealing your money.

If you paid your tax prep fees out of pocket, the third-party bank is not involved, and your refund comes directly from the IRS to your bank. In that case, make sure your bank information is correct.

One last thing about fees.

When you choose to have fees taken out of your refund, you are paying more than just the tax preparer. You are also paying:

The bank
The tax software company
Administrative and processing fees
Electronic filing

If you received a cash advance, you are also paying interest. For example, a $7,000 advance can carry fees of around $222 by itself.

Those fees do not all go to the tax pro.

Just a few friendly reminders, because I know it’s been a whole year since last tax season.
