CAUTION! If you get a call from someone saying they are with your local sheriff or police department, informing you that you have missed a court date concerning your PPP Loan, be cautious. These calls are scams, and are happening frequently right now! Hang up and call you local law enforcement office to report the call. If you've missed a court date, they will be able to tell you when you call. These scammers are very convincing, and they have a lot of information that you wouldn't think scammers would have. PPP Loan information has been public since 2020, so they have easy access. Often the calls even show the local law enforcement name and phone number on caller ID.
I received one of these calls today. The caller ID showed my local sheriff's office name and the correct phone number. When I called to report it, I was told that probably half of the people in our county had received that same call over the past few days. Never, never give out your personal or financial information over the phone, unless you are the one who instigated the call!

Thanks to all of you who have sent well wishes and prayers for Alice. She is off the ventilator and out of ICU. I just spoke with her on the phone. She is very weak, but improving daily. I have no doubt that she' she'll be back in the office soon. She reminded me on the phone that we need to order copy envelopes for the office!

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful clients and friends. As you celebrate the birth of our Savior, please keep Alice Best Tann in your prayers. Alice is the smiling face you see when you enter my office, the kind voice you hear on the phone when you call, and the one who keeps everything organized and running smoothly in the tax office. Alice is sick and will be spending Christmas in UNC hospital. We love you Alice and pray for a full and speedy recovery.

I have so many loyal, long time clients, and I appreciate each one. but I think this one wins the loyalty prize. I got this message from her tonight from Alaska...."Another year down.. Soon it will be 30 yrs for us. You have been through 2 marriages, one child, and 6 states!!!"
