I heard about this book from another one I was reading, and I was intrigued.

I picked up a copy and, midway through, discovered 10 things the author called "The Code of the West."

After thinking about it for a few days, I feel like everyone could benefit from applying these principles to their lives, and we'd probably have a lot less heartache if we did.

It reminded me a lot of how my Grandpa talked...

1. Live Each Day With Courage
2. Take Pride In Your Work
3. Always Finish What You Start
4. Do What Has To Be Done
5. Be Tough, But Fair
6. When You Make A Promise, Keep It
7. Ride For The Brand
8. Talk Less And Say More
9. Remember That Some Things Aren't For Sale
10. Know Where to Draw The Line

All of them are powerful, but eight thorough ten really hit home for me.👍

I read Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki in 2000 when I first heard about it.

The old copy is on the left, and it's holding up pretty good for being 21 years old.

Anyway...

It completely opened my mind to a whole new world of possibilities, changed my life trajectory, and helped my wife and me become financially free for the first time in 2006.

If you haven't read it, I highly recommend that you do.

There are three main points that we teach every client that I want to share with you today.

1. Pay yourself first
2. Buy assets, not liabilities
3. It's not how much you make; it's how much you keep.
