Since starting my financial planning firm, I have been part of the XY Planning Network (XYPN), a group of fee-only (i.e. no commissions) financial planning firm owners.
Starting a financial planning firm from scratch, in the middle of a pandemic, no less, can be both challenging and isolating. XYPN was there to provided guidance and more importantly a community of other like-minded individuals.
In 2022, I was asked to be on their Behind the Advisor podcast to share my story.
To my surprise, when I opened my email in December to see the 2025 Must-Listen Episodes, my podcast was one of the ten chosen.
Though I shared my story many years ago, it has continued to strike a chord with individuals.
Why?
I think it is the same reason why I have such a great relationship with my clients.
I am my authentic self and I am transparent in an industry that isn't known for it's transparency.
Be yourself and the right people will come! I have a group of amazing clients to prove it!
