Last week, ten members of our captive insurance team attended the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA) annual conference in Charleston. The event brought together industry professionals, regulators, and service providers for three days of learning and networking focused on the latest developments in the captive insurance space. SCCIA promotes the formation and growth of captive insurance programs within the state of South Carolina. Captive insurance programs are a valuable tool for many corporate entities looking for a better way to manage risk.

BPS has a long history with SCCIA, with both Chris Stormer and Bryan Hudson as past presidents. For the 2025 conference, partner Ben Glenn brought the firm’s expertise to the stage as a panelist on captive taxation, and BPS sponsored the opening reception.
