The National and International Agenda
11 February my associates and I conducted an economic development program to outline goals and objectives designed to empower the African-American and African in the diaspora. The National Agenda endeavored to discover and uncover opportunities of economic development and empowerment. Major keys were found in the areas of International Trade, Development and Technology Transfer. In this new and uncertain political time, for the black and brown man and women, it is now more important than ever to carve out our own / your path to empowerment.
Associates and development experts attended in support of The National and International Agenda from Cincinnati, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana and of course Columbus, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio. I was humbled by the professionals speaking and giving their input, directions and answers to the questions of Economic Empowerment and housing development; for the black and the brown disadvantaged citizen.
In attendance were leaders from three Muslim communities, our local Hebrew Brother Kyenga Ashe and his very engaging wife Kadijah Ashe, who is the Presidents of the Friends of the African Union (FAU), Brother Ashe, is the Vice President and support staff, a few of my personal faith and community-based Christian brothers and my special brother and international up line, Abdur Rashid Ali, President of the Global Group, and co-founder of All Aid International a successful fifteen year old NGO and now Senior Partner of Global First, ETC a newly proposed Export Trading Company, LLC, as a consequence of this National Agenda. A local good brother, Asifah Nubru and his family, of ‘The Black Nation’s United (aka Black Panthers), who provided much, appreciated marketing, program logistics and the sisters who provided food for our tired and exhausted masses.
There were spirited discussions from the audience of participants, many of which volunteer to work on assisting ongoing work of Economic Development and Empowerment. Discussed were: New Market Tax Credits, various local and national Community Development Funds, ranging into the billions of dollars, a CRA Law recently passed in Cincinnati, Ohio, with the assistance of a strong Ministerial and Community Alliance. One of our senior brothers, also from Cincinnati, Ohio, Brother Bill Tate, spoke to the new churches position of “what is in it for me and the people (WIFM)”. I was overwhelmed and thankful to all those helping to make this event a success and especially sister Danielle for tanking good notes that allowed me to remember as much as I have. I am / we are going to put out a combined “policy paper” before our next event, of, or on, the directions of the Who, the What, the Why, and the How Come and the How much to bring about International Empowerment. Family, “We Have the Advantages of a Late Start” Thank u for your interest and participation and May the Creator Bless us all.
