Sometimes God has a way of reminding us what really matters. ❤️

Life has been incredibly busy lately—running In The Pines Bookkeeping, serving as Gambling Manager for Rock Ridge Youth Hockey, being Treasurer for Light After Loss MN, working part time for Froe Bros, and now scheduling my **dissertation defense** and getting ready to finally finish this PhD journey. 🎓

I’m incredibly thankful for every one of these opportunities, but sometimes being busy doing good things can still pull us away from the things God has placed right in front of us.

Lloyd has been patiently waiting for me to help him with his fixer-upper truck, and I’ve kept saying, “We’ll get to it.”

Tonight, I decided my work and research could wait.

While he was feeding the chickens and goats, I went out and started working on his truck. When he came rolling back up and saw the hood open, the smile on his face—and the huge hug that followed—was all the reminder I needed. ❤️

God has blessed me with a business I love, organizations I’m honored to serve, an education I’ve worked incredibly hard for, and opportunities I never want to take for granted. But one of my greatest blessings will always be being Lloyd’s mom.

The emails can wait. The books will still be there. The meetings, deadlines, and dissertation will get done.

But our children are only this age once.

Tonight was a reminder to slow down, trust that God will give me the time and strength for everything else, and be present for the blessings He has already given me.

And now we have an open hood on a fixer-upper truck... so next up, Mom and Lloyd are diving into the motor. 🙏❤️🔧🛻

In just a few hours, my heart will be in the stands as I watch Lloyd climb onto his first bull at the North Star rodeo.

As a mom, it’s impossible not to feel a mix of excitement, nerves, and overwhelming pride. It takes courage to step into an arena where there are no guarantees - only faith, preparation, and the determination to get back up no matter what happens. Watching him pursue something he loves reminds me that some of life’s greatest lessons come from having the courage to try.

This rodeo is extra special for another reason. For the first time, In The Pines Bookkeeping has a banner hanging at the arena. Seeing my business represented in a community that reflects so many of the values I believe in - faith, family, hard work, and supporting one another - is something I don’t take for granted.

Building a business and raising a child who isn’t afraid to chase big dreams have more in common than most people realize. Both require perseverance, sacrifice, trust in God’s plan, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when the path isn’t easy.

No matter how today’s ride goes (and the rest of the weekend), I’m already proud of the young man Lloyd is becoming. Thank you to everyone who supports local rodeos, small businesses, and kids who are brave enough to chase their dreams.

Our first round of tshirts is ready! 😍✨️ Thank you Mary with triple R crafts and creations 😍 We are so grateful for all you do!!

Time is flying by! Be sure to register for our memorial walk & picnic this year. Its truly so helpful and healing for our community to come together.

We are incredibly excited that we get to host our annual walk at our new park location in Hibbing! We are grateful for our years in Virginia at Olcott Park, while feeling excited about new traditions. Hope Remembrance Park is a beautiful grassy park, and we hope for quick development over these summer and fall months!

Since our park does not have a paved path like we are used to, we decided to add a picnic to our event. We will still have a mini memorial walk, which will be a casual route through the grassy park and trees. It may not be ideal for strollers, but still welcome families to walk together! After our walk we will have speeches, visuals available for our park design, and community connection! We will have a kids craft to do for our angel babies. We look forward to having this opportunity for our community to connect.

Summer has been a little quieter here on social media—but that's because life and business have been wonderfully full!

Over the past few months, I've had the privilege of welcoming several new bookkeeping clients to In The Pines Bookkeeping. Thank you to each of you for trusting me with your business. It's truly a blessing to help small businesses gain confidence in their finances so they can focus on what they do best.

When I'm not categorizing transactions, reconciling accounts or preparing financial reports, I've been soaking up time with my family. We recently had an unforgettable adventure in Alaska, making memories we'll cherish for years to come. I've also been spending plenty of time at the rink as Lloyd attended goalie camp and hockey tournaments, watching him continue to grow through hard work and dedication.

This summer also brought a new volunteer opportunity as I stepped into the role of Gambling Manager for our local hockey association.
