Here's a tip: Label the thing and label the shelf/inside drawer space where it goes. Then you will see that it is missing and leave a space for it when it turns up and you will also help those who borrow it to put it back. A labeler is slow so if you just want to try the process, get Avery removable labels and a sharpie and go to town! If you do a major file shift or reorganization, put the labels on the outside of drawers and cabinets until everyone gets used to the new arrangement.

January is a the time to shift all of last year's files out of daily rotation. Create new files for the coming year and while you're at it, clean and re-think office efficiency. Most-used files should be closest to you. Pencils, stapler, tape, clips, all should have pride of place on your desk. Take time to clear all your personal items off the desk including pictures. Once clear, imagine new pictures and personal items that represent where you are now (not 10 years ago) and where you want to be going in the coming year (s). Images are a great way to manifest your intentions.

I had a long talk today with Jan Lockie, A very experienced bookkeeper friend of my mother's. She was very helpful and also inspirational because she is on top of her technology. It is changing very fast and she is keeping up with it.

Hi Folks, this is so exciting! I am taking classes through the high school district to learn about websites and making connections for my business online. I have taken a course in online marketing using Manta and Facebook, and Twitter . Then I took another class on Blogging. My favorite so far was the Wordpress class. The teacher was the sweetest cuddly bear and I learned A LOT!
Now if I could only find some time to get it all set up.
