Hey everyone! I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. We had intended to open the office yesterday. Due to the weather, we are going to make our official office opening date Friday, January 24, 2025 this year.

You can still upload your documents and skip an office visit. I've started working on the the ones I've received.

We've made some major upgrades to our client portal. I'm asking clients to go ahead and set up your portal. You can use this to upload your documents to plus it captures some basic information that I may need. Its very user friendly and this will speed up the entire process.

I know not everyone that communicates with me is on Facebook but for those who are, please be patient with me. I need a day today. Within a matter of 2 weeks, I lost a close personal friend unexpectedly, Dwight Williams, and my other mama, Pat Chandler.

I know a lot of people know and a lot of people don’t know but Pat was more than an aunt to me. All my mama sisters are extra mamas. I think it’s a southern thing.

Pat was my mama. Growing up, I was with her just about everyday. She never married and we lived next door. She taught me how to do taxes and about working in an office. Every Saturday from the time I was 11 up until I was 16, I would go to work with her on Saturday at Tuscarora Plastics. I learned about office management and Human Resources. I learned to type and Lotus 123 was my first spreadsheet.

She took me on vacations. Helped me with things we couldn’t afford. And gave me her opinion whether I wanted it or not.

I grew up and life started but she was always there even though I wasn’t physically as before. In 2017, I got lucky to be able to work back in Conyers. So, every week I tried to at least get to her at lunch.

My last lunch with her was on Friday, April 19. Her fried chicken was my favorite thing. Aunt Deanie made me vegetable soup and rice pudding (my favorite aunt Deanie thing) but Pat said she knew fried chicken was my favorite so she made me that too since she hadn’t made it for me in years.

Over the past couple years we talked about the day she wouldn’t be here and she gave me a lot of instructions and things to do. I’m a little overwhelmed at the moment. So, please be patient with me.

VERY IMPORTANT:
For all our Corporate, LLC and Partnership Clients
Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting with FinCEN is REQUIRED!

Failure to file by the deadline can result in significant penalties , including:

- Fines up to $50,000 per violation, per day.
- Imprisonment for willful violations.
- Reputational damage and potential business disruptions.

While I cannot provide legal advice or file the BOI report on your behalf, I strongly urge you to take immediate action to ensure compliance. I am recommending that you use TRUSS BOI e-File to make this an easy and quick process. It will guide you through the filing process.

Please don't delay and let this sneak up on you. If you know of any other companies, please share this link with them. They do not have to be a client of mine. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or require additional resources.

Please use the link below to get your report filed.

This is still true but I also want to add:

— Check your return! If you have a fictions Sch C (business) that you really didn’t have. Run!! The IRS will catch up to you and you will be responsible not the preparer.

Please don't be taken advantage of...

--Be cautious of tax preparers who claim they can obtain larger refunds than other preparers. Keep in mind there are firms out there (locally) that will get you huge refunds with inaccurate data and then profit off you by charging you as much as $400-600.

--Avoid preparers who base their fee on a percentage of the refund.

--Avoid preparers who inflate refunds with fictitious information and then charge you $400-600 because "you won't really notice it."

--Reputable preparers will ask to see receipts and will ask multiple questions to determine whether expenses, deductions and other items qualify. By doing so, they are trying to help their clients avoid penalties, interest or additional taxes that could result from an IRS examination.

Tax evasion is a risky crime, a felony, punishable by five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. Don't make some firm rich while you take the fall!
