⚡ URGENT: Electricians Needed to Help Families Restore Power

Legacy Foundation urgently needs additional licensed and insured electricians to assist with our Weatherhead Assistance Program.

Nearly three weeks after the storm, many residents are still without power because damaged weatherheads must be repaired before electric service can be restored. While some electricians have stepped up to help, our waiting list remains long and we need additional contractors to serve families still waiting to reconnect their homes.

In partnership with CoAction.Care, we are seeking to hire electricians willing to support this critical community recovery effort.

❤️ Coming Together for Lake County Disaster Relief Funding

The severe storms that swept through Lake County on August 11th left many of our neighbors facing unexpected and difficult circumstances.

Families, businesses, and communities throughout the area are dealing with storm damage, power outages, cleanup needs, and the challenge of getting back on their feet.

At the Crown Point Community Foundation, our hearts are with everyone impacted by these storms. We know that recovery will take time, resources, and neighbors coming together to care for one another.

In response to the storms, the Crown Point Community Foundation and Legacy Foundation have joined forces to help provide and coordinate charitable support for communities throughout Lake County.

For those who would like to support relief efforts specifically benefiting South Lake County residents, donations can be made to the Crown Point Community Foundation’s Crown Point Aid & Relief Fund. These gifts will help address local needs and support recovery efforts for our neighbors and communities.

In response to the June 11th and recent storms, Legacy Foundation, the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation, and the Town of Merrillville have awarded $395,000 to support local storm relief for Merrillville residents from the Merrillville Tornado Relief Fund. 🤝❤️

If you or a neighbor need support, local nonprofits are available to assist with insurance deductibles, utility and rent relief, home repairs, and food access.

Our hearts are heavy for the Northwest Indiana region this week. The destruction and loss our community has faced is truly incredible, and it's touched all of us — team members, friends, family, neighbors.

So many are dealing with downed trees, power lines, and outages, along with shortages of gas and food. It's been a hard, exhausting stretch for everyone.

Our office is back up with power and internet, but many of our team members are still without power at home, or out in the community helping wherever they're needed. We're so proud of them.

To everyone affected — please know we're thinking of you. If there's any way we can help, don't hesitate to reach out. Sending strength, support, and prayers to our neighbors during this difficult time. 💙💜
