It’s reporting time and you don’t have receipts for last year’s expenses. Now what?
You can still report those deductions on your 990 without receipts for every transaction.
If you do not have a receipt, make sure that you have detailed notes about the transaction. For instance, who you purchased from, the date, the location of the sale, etc.
You can also use your bank statement as proof of purchase.
If you find yourself in the situation of not having last year’s receipts, consider creating a more organized tracking system from here on out so that you don’t run into this problem in the future or better yet, outsource this to us!
