In the latest Coffee with Andrew, Andrew Smith, Chief Investment Strategist, comments about the latest banking crisis and details the expectations and how Delos Capital Advisors is planning to move forward.

"The recent bank crisis is NOT due to bad loans but due to liquidity issues stemming from the ability of individuals to access Treasury Bills that offered rates of return above and beyond deposit rates. As deposits are withdrawn, banks must generate cash and usually do so by liquidating assets on their balance sheet."

During our Coffee with Andrew this week, Andrew briefly discussed what seems to be a relentless expectation that the Fed will give us a pivot based solely on the recent volatility. And to be fair, the expectations are understandable as investors have been conditioned with recency bias that the Fed will save the day as they have done over the last 15 years; pivot when the times get tough. This note today is a quick dive into why the Fed has No Trick to save the day, thus providing us No Treat in the form of a risk asset rally. Something the "buy-the-dippers" and "bottom-callers" have been painfully reminded of. Enjoy!

In last week's Coffee with Andrew will discuss The Ugly "R" Word: Recession. In the new post, Andrew Smith, Chief investment strategist, notes; Over the last few months, we've seen a dramatic increase in recession statements as many have realized that the economy may not be as strong as previously thought.

Smith concludes: "The next phase of this business cycle will be profit misses and/or lower profit guidance in this upcoming quarterly earnings season. A quicker deterioration will then follow it in labor conditions, which will cause the Fed to pivot, thus creating a bottom in economic conditions. Given how quickly this has unfolded, we expect this cycle to flush through much faster than we have seen in previous cycles. We are monitoring our data models closely."
