Should I consolidate my old 401(k)s or IRAs?
If you’ve changed jobs over the years, you may have a few old 401(k)s sitting with former employers or IRAs that you haven't looked at in years. Consolidating them may simplify your finances, but it is not always the right move for everyone.
Potential benefits may include:
✅Fewer accounts to track
✅Easier investment management
✅A clearer retirement income picture
✅Simpler beneficiary updates
⚠️However, before making a move, it’s important to compare fees, investment options, tax considerations, and any special plan features you may lose.
A rollover can be helpful, but it should fit into your overall retirement plan.
