Need to scrape together some extra cash to pay off debt? To go on a trip? To buy a new car? To make ends meet?

Here are twelve ways you can save money in the month of April:

* Cancel at least one subscription
* Try a discount grocery store, or a cheaper alternative like Aldi
* Get price quotes to switch auto insurance
* Choose a "free" fun activity to do with friends --> Google “free things to do”
* Shop secondhand at Goodwill, Plato's Closet, Once Upon a Child, Saver's, etc
* Meal prep every Sunday this month
* Put as many budget categories you can into "cash envelopes" -- When the money is out, it's out!
* Use less gas & ride share as much as possible
* Skip soda & drinks each time when going out to eat
* Skip gourmet coffee this month (This would save me lotsssss of money 😊)
* Check out coupon apps/websites
* Do your date night in nature (think a park, hike, picnic, etc)

Your money habits don’t usually change in big strides.

However, those little moments on repeat are where your true successes lie. 🥰

2022 is an exciting year for us financially! 🥰

We've spent 5 years grinding to pay off $135,000 in consumer debt with intentional budgeting, extra jobs, and some additional sacrifices.

This year is the first full year we can step into the goals that those sacrifices led us to, and we can't contain our excitement! 😊

Since our Debt Free date, we saved our Emergency Fund of $15,000 (Baby Step 3).

Here's what our goals are in 2022:
◼ Begin saving a 20% down payment for a new home (Baby Step 3b)
◼ Put 15% of our household income into retirement (Baby Step 4)
◼ Begin saving funds for Scarlet's college (Baby Step 5)

All will be done simultaneously, and we will be facilitating these steps for years to come. 🎉

There were so many moments along the way that we wanted to quit; throw in the towel and simply state that we couldn't get ourselves out of our own mess.

The truth is, it's easier to declare that it's "normal" to have the financial weight of debt hanging around.

But we didn't want normal. We wanted different.

But we worked together and made it happen, despite the hardship around *literally* every corner. ❤️
