We had a group of our young accountants have an afternoon of fun recently at Field Day in Huntsville. They had lunch beforehand then spent the afternoon playing glow in the dark golf and many other fun games! They make sure that life is not all work and no play.

Myth: I can claim my pet as a dependent.
Fact: Sorry, Fido doesn't qualify! 🐶🐱

As much as we love our furry family members, the IRS only allows certain human dependents to be claimed on a tax return. Dependents must meet specific relationship, residency, support, and other eligibility requirements.

Your pet may be priceless, but unfortunately, they won't help lower your tax bill.
