The Fed held interest rates steady at its June 17 meeting — the federal funds rate stays at 3.5% to 3.75%. Inflation is still running above the Fed's 2% goal, with energy costs part of the story.

530A Accounts, also known as “Trump Accounts,” are a new savings account option for children under 18.

These accounts are designed to help families start investing for a child’s future, but they come with specific rules around eligibility, contributions, investments, and withdrawals.

A few key points:

• Eligible children born from 2025 through 2028 may qualify for a $1,000 federal pilot contribution
• Contributions are generally limited during the child’s growth period
• Investment options are restricted to eligible U.S. stock index funds or ETFs
• Once the child reaches the year they turn 18, the account is generally treated under traditional IRA rules
