Keep track of major life changes — they affect your taxes more than you think.

Getting married 💍, having a baby 👶🏾, buying a home 🏡, or even a child turning 17 🎂 can change your filing status, credits, or deductions.

👉🏾 Examples:
• A child turning 17 means you may lose the Child Tax Credit, but they might qualify for the Credit for Other Dependents instead.
• Marriage could mean bigger standard deductions if you file jointly — or fewer credits if you don’t.
• Buying a home opens the door to deductions you didn’t qualify for before.

⚡ Pro tip: Always let your preparer know about big life changes so your return is filed correctly, and you don’t leave money behind.

🔒 IRS Fact You Probably Didn’t Know 🔒

Did you know the IRS offers one of the strongest tools to protect your taxes from identity theft? It’s called an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) — a confidential 6-digit code that only you and the IRS know.

Here’s why it’s so powerful:
✨ It helps stop scammers from filing a fake tax return with your Social Security Number.
✨ It must be used every year when you file — if it’s missing or wrong, your return will be rejected or delayed.
✨ It’s completely free through the IRS, but many taxpayers don’t realize it even exists.

👉🏾 Most people think fraud protection is out of their hands, but enrolling in the IP PIN program is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and your refund.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend and found some time to recharge. As for me, I’ll be closing out the evening in an educational Schedule C Masterclass.
