🚨 Wait… Did You Have Marketplace Insurance and Not Even Realize It? 👀
Every tax season someone confidently says, “I didn’t have Marketplace insurance.” Five minutes later… return is rejected and we find a 1095 A!
If you purchased health insurance through
HealthCare.gov or your state Marketplace,
you will receive Form 1095 A and we need it to file your return correctly.
Here is why this matters…
When you enrolled, the government may have helped pay your monthly premium through the Premium Tax Credit.
That credit must be reconciled on your tax return.
✔ If you made less than expected, you could receive a larger refund.
✔ If you made more than expected, you may have to pay some back.
❌ If we file without it, your return can reject or your refund can be delayed.

Now let’s talk about situations people forget about.
You likely had Marketplace insurance if
1. You lost your job and signed up for your own coverage
2. You enrolled online because it was “cheaper”
3. Your monthly premium was reduced
4. You received a letter mentioning a Premium Tax Credit
5. You created an account to shop for health plans
If any of this sounds familiar, you probably have a tax form 1095 A…And no, we cannot just leave it off. The IRS already has a copy.
Before filing, JUST CHECK your mail or log into your Marketplace account and download your 1095 A.
Let’s protect your refund and avoid unnecessary surprises.
