Two people asked me about a service I didn't offer in the same day.

Women get less funding. Today five got some.

I spent the day at Villanova University for She Pitches Philly, NAWBO Philadelphia's pitch competition.

It exists because women-owned businesses have a harder time getting access to capital, and this event puts real money behind closing that gap. As a NAWBO member (with a mentor of my own through them), I've seen how much this organization does for women business owners.

All five women stood up and pitched their businesses, and every single one walked away with a monetary award.

Congratulations to all five. I know it isn't easy to put yourself out there like that. A big thank you to the committee who made this happen, too. I hope NAWBO Philadelphia keeps it going for years to come.

If you run an early stage or small growth stage business in the Greater Philadelphia, Lehigh or Northampton area, keep an eye out for the next one. It's a real shot at capital and visibility.

Who says the accounting booth has to be boring?

On Nov. 5th, Ledgr Life is exhibiting at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women for the first time. With 9k+ attendees, there's a lot competing for your attention.

I know what an accounting booth usually looks like: a bowl of pens, a stack of brochures, and someone hoping you'll make eye contact. (I love my profession, but we are not known for our booth energy.)

Which is why I'm trying something a little different.

Amanda Hofman and her team at Go To Market designed a few pieces of merch for us, and these are the top contenders:

→ "Oh, girls just wanna see profit" on a tee (go ahead, sing it in your head)
→ "Not your finance bro" on a sweatshirt
→ "Hope is not cash flow" on a tote bag, possibly the most accountant sentence ever printed on a bag
→ "Love your Ledgr Life" on a travel tumbler, for the coffee you'll need by 2pm

Last year the weather was perfect....

Fall had barely started to turn and there was a crispness in the air. We sat under the tent on the banks of Lake Galena. The band playing set the vibe and the conversations were flowing. My husband and I drove home saying what a great date night it was.

This year marks the 10th annual Fall Harvest Sampler, and the Nature Center's 50th anniversary. September 25th at 7pm on the banks of Lake Galena. Craft b**r, including a few brewed for the park, food, raffles, live music, and the lake right there while the sun goes down.

is a non-profit that provides environmental education and programming around Peace Valley Park in Bucks County, PA. They've been at it for 50 years, and I'm proud to say they're a client.

Client Spotlight 🔥 .fire.one

Had the best time visiting my new client this week, and owner Pete Walts knows how to treat a lady. Incredible hospitality, even better food.

This 1940s firehouse in Warrington, PA has been transformed into one of the coolest multi-use spaces around: a museum honoring the Warrington Fire Department, meeting rooms and a podcast studio for the community, and the Canteen food truck serving up seriously good comfort food (that meatball grilled cheese pull was no joke).

Equal parts history, hospitality, and hustle. So proud to call Pete and the Fire One team a client.

The food truck is open for lunch Monday through Friday, right off Route 611 in Warrington. Go say hi, and buy a gourmet grilled cheese. They don't disappoint!

The results are in...

To be honest, we were hoping this would be the year. But you clearly showed up for us, and that support means a lot.
