How can I retire at 60? It's a common goal, and it comes with a few extra things to think about. Retiring at 60 usually means more years of living on your savings. It may also mean a gap before Social Security starts, and a stretch of paying for health coverage yourself. None of that puts it out of reach. It means the plan has more to cover. Good retirement questions to ask include what you spend each month, where your income could come from in those first years, and how your investments are set up for a longer stretch. It's also worth asking how you'd feel about working part-time for a while if the numbers come up short. The answers are different for everybody. We can go through yours with you and see how 60 could look.
