What do I need to bring to prepare my taxes?
To prepare your taxes, you'll need various documents based on your specific financial situation. Here’s a general list of what you might need:
1. Personal Information*:
- ITIN or Social Security numbers (SSN) for yourself, your spouse (if filing jointly), and any dependents.
- A copy of last year's tax return (if available)
2. Income Documents:
- W-2 forms from employers
- 1099 forms for any freelance or contract work (e.g., 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC)
- 1099-INT or 1099-DIV for interest or dividend income
- 1099-G for unemployment benefits or state tax refunds
- 1099-R for retirement distributions (IRA, 401(k), etc.)
- K-1 forms if you have income from partnerships or S corporations
- Any other income statements (rental income, business income, cash income, etc.)
3. Deductions & Credits:
