🚨 BIG IRS CHANGE COMING IN 2027! 🚨

The IRS is making it easier for eligible taxpayers to receive penalty relief.

✅ Starting with eligible returns due on or after January 1, 2027, the IRS will begin using a new Automatic Exemption from Penalty (AEP) program.

Here’s what that means:

✔️ If you qualify, you won’t have to request First-Time Penalty Abatement anymore.
✔️ The IRS will automatically review your account and apply penalty relief if you’re eligible.
✔️ You’ll receive a notice confirming the penalty was removed.

To qualify, taxpayers generally must have:
📌 Filed their tax returns on time for the previous 3 years.
📌 Paid any taxes due (or otherwise met the IRS requirements) during that period.

The automatic relief can apply to penalties such as:
✅ Failure-to-File
✅ Failure-to-Pay
✅ Failure-to-Deposit (when applicable)

⚠️ This doesn’t forgive the tax you owe or any applicable interest—it only helps eliminate qualifying penalties.

As tax laws continue to change, staying informed can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

The IRS has increased the standard mileage rates for expenses incurred on or after July 1, 2026. Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Business Mileage: 76¢ per mile (up from 72.5¢)
🏥 Medical & Moving Mileage: 23.5¢ per mile (up from 20.5¢)
❤️ Charitable Mileage: Remains 14¢ per mile

📌 If you’re self-employed, own a business, or drive for work, make sure you’re using the correct mileage rate when tracking your deductible business miles.

⚠️ Using outdated rates could mean you’re missing out on deductions or reporting your expenses incorrectly.
