IPOs aren't what you think 👀

Most people assume getting in on an IPO means getting in early. But by the time shares are available to the average investor, the biggest gains have already been captured by institutional funds who got in before the stock ever went public.

That's just the first thing most investors overlook.

There's also a critical window that opens up 90 to 180 days after launch, when insiders are finally allowed to sell their shares. When that happens, it can create real downward pressure on the stock, often right when retail investors are feeling the most confident.

And then there's the hype factor. A stock trending on social media is not an investment strategy. The details that actually determine whether an IPO is worth your money are rarely the ones going viral.

Understanding these three dynamics won't make every IPO a good investment, but it can keep you from making a costly mistake.
