📣 EL CAMPO OFFICE CLOSED SEPTEMBER 21–22

I’m Out of the Office! ✈️📚

The AccuTax Service El Campo office will be CLOSED Monday, September 21 through Wednesday , September 23 while I attend the NATP Tax Forum in Minneapolis for continuing professional education.

I’ll be spending the next two days sharpening my knowledge on current tax updates, IRS issues, tax planning, business taxation, S corporations, depreciation, and more.

Tax laws change. IRS procedures change. And I believe staying educated is part of providing my clients with the level of service they deserve.

Our Wharton and Bay City offices will remain open during regular business hours.

I’ll be back in El Campo soon—hopefully smarter, definitely with a notebook full of information, and probably with a new list of things for my staff to learn. 😂📚

💗 TAX PLANNING DOESN’T HAPPEN AT THE TAX PREPARER’S DESK.

By the time you sit down to prepare your tax return, the year is already over. At that point, we’re mostly reporting what already happened.

Tax planning happens NOW.

August is actually a great time for a mid-year tax checkup because there’s still time to make adjustments before December 31.

📌 Pull out your most recent pay stub and take a look at:

✔️ How much you’ve earned so far this year
✔️ How much federal income tax has actually been withheld
✔️ Whether your income has increased or changed
✔️ Whether your W-4 still makes sense for your situation
✔️ How much you’re contributing to your 401(k) or other retirement plan
✔️ Whether increasing retirement contributions could fit into your tax strategy
✔️ Whether you have additional income that isn’t having taxes withheld

Life changes matter, too. A new job, raise, marriage, divorce, new baby, side business, retirement, or other major financial change can affect what your tax return looks like.

⚠️ Don't wait until tax season to discover you didn't have enough withheld.

A tax return tells us what already happened.
